Garden wall restoration in La Jolla

The Problem

A homeowner in La Jolla reported his garden wall was in bad shape and had become unsightly.

Our Solution

McKowski’s was tasked by the HOA to repair and paint the wall.

First, we covered the tile floor and landscape in the backyard along the wall. Using a chipping gun, we removed all loose stucco from the wall. Bagged the debris and hauled away for proper disposal.

We then washed off the wall to remove any stucco dust or dirt from the wall and let dry.

Next, we rolled the wall with concrete adhesive to ensure the stucco will adhere permanently.

A stucco base was applied to the wall and allowed to dry. We then skimmed the wall with stucco and used a sponge float to apply texture to match the original.

We let the final coat of stucco dry overnight before applying two coats of
masonry paint. The result is an aesthetically pleasing wall to accentuate the garden behind it.

Phase two will be to repair and paint the 80 feet of divider wall between the two homes.
